Although it may seem that the Product (RED) campaign may not have much to do with opiate addiction, I’m going to be donating 5% of the profits from each sale of Withdrawal-Ease to the Project (RED) fund.
As you may have surmised, I’m a bit of a U2 fan (new single out today woo hoo!) and there’s no doubt that I’ve been following Bono’s humanitarian efforts quite closely over the past 10 years or so. To me, there’s no justice in what is happening in Sub-Saharan Africa and the thought of children dying due to the lack of a .50 cent shot for malaria or medicine for HIV makes me sick to my stomach.
I don’t mean to rant on this blog and many of you have serious problems of your own. There have been a lot of times when I have thought about this site and said to myself, “George why are you doing this? You’re crazy, it’s never going to work!” And it’s uncanny how every time I start to doubt myself about what I trying to accomplish with this site, I get an email from a customer thanking me for helping them help themselves.
When you help other people, you also feel empowered to help yourself in a way. It’s a good feeling. For me, those notes from you all really make all of the 14 hour days and time spent away from my family a whole lot easier to manage. So I suppose that giving to a cause like (RED) does have relevance to what we are trying to accomplish here together.
When you’re addicted, you become so consumed with yourself and your problems that you become a complete narcissist. So whether it’s contributing to this cause or maybe helping some other person who has an addiction, take the time every day to think about other people. Take the time to help someone. You’ll be helping yourself.
