The Right Step Addiction and Recovery
George’s Take: George Joseph (CEO of The Right Step) and Dr. Powers (Chief Clinical Officer) have put together a great treatment protocol and program for opiate addiction, detox and dependency. They have a lot of different treatments available for every type of budget or addiction and they use some of my products. They are mostly centered in Texas with other facilities in New Mexico and Louisiana. If you live in Texas and need in-patient treatment, The Right Step would be a great choice.
Addiction Sites
George’s take: Bluelight is more of a professional drug taking site than a site to help those who want to quit. For me however, just going through some of the comments on this site just reinforces why one should quit in the first place. Browse through Bluelight’s “Dark Side” forum for some real inspiration to quit!
www.addictionrecoveryguide.com
George’s take: Even though yours truly was banned on this board, I still think it’s a great message board with forums dedicated to various subjects and they’re a pretty supportive bunch…unless you say anything disparaging about AA.
George’s take:Alcoholics Anonymous. Although I’m not a huge fan, you can’t argue with their heritage and popularity. If AA works for you, great!
www.drugfree.org - Partnership for a Drug Free America
George’s take:The federal government’s site on drug addiction and recovery. This site has a lot of information although it’s a bit “hysterical” of course. Nevertheless, it’s a good resource…just don’t go pouring your heart out about your doctor shopping on this site.
Other Government Health Sites:
George’s take: My favorite source of info for drug interactions and other info on specific pharmaceuticals. If it’s an approved FDA regulated drug on the market today, it’s on RXList.com
George’s take:More of an overall wellness site but it does have a good deal of addiction information. As you can tell from the title, it has a lot of lifestyle oriented content.
George’s take:Med Help is a bit encyclopedic but if you want to know something about any health related issues, it’s probably in there.
