George’s take: Although this message board can be a bit slow sometimes, the mods have some great info on here if you dig around enough.
George’s take: Bluelight is more of a professional drug taking site than a site to help those who want to quit. For me however, just going through some of the comments on this site just reinforces why one should quit in the first place. Browse through Bluelight’s “Dark Side” forum for some real inspiration to quit!
George’s take: Although the site was started by someone who had a bad experience with Suboxone, there are a lot of other good discussions here on various subjects. A pretty active board.
George’s take: Some good info here about recovery and ongoing addiction issues. Not the prettiest looking site but it’s got good info and a pretty active message board.
www.addictionrecoveryguide.com
George’s take: Even though yours truly was banned on this board, I still think it’s a great message board with forums dedicated to various subjects and they’re a pretty supportive bunch…unless you say anything disparaging about AA.
George’s take: Alcoholics Anonymous. Although I’m not a huge fan, you can’t argue with their heritage and popularity. If AA works for you, great!
www.drugfree.org - Partnership for a Drug Free America
George’s take: The federal government’s site on drug addiction and recovery. This site has a lot of information although it’s a bit “hysterical” of course. Nevertheless, it’s a good resource…just don’t go pouring your heart out about your doctor shopping on this site.
Other Government Health Sites:
George’s take: My favorite source of info for drug interactions and other info on specific pharmaceuticals. If it’s an approved FDA regulated drug on the market today, it’s on RXList.com
George’s take:More of an overall wellness site but it does have a good deal of addiction information. As you can tell from the title, it has a lot of lifestyle oriented content.
George’s take: Med Help is a bit encyclopedic but if you want to know something about any health related issues, it’s probably in there.
George’s take:Although a bit heavy on ads and such, it’s got good top-line info on all types of drugs
George’s take: More of a reference library from pharmaceuticals. I’ll go to drugs.com to get info on drug interactions or to look up a certain drug that I don’t know about.
George’s take: Another one of those site where you’re not sure if it’s meant to show ads or give information but nevertheless, some good top-line info on various drug topics…get’s into detail about the actual chemical makeup of certain drugs…if you’re into that kind of thing.
