I'm very happy nthat I took the time to study on this issue. I've had aloy of people telling me that it is the best med to kick methadone of which I wasnt too convinced, It kind of blew my hopes about being to get off methodone. I dont want to leave one thing to get hooked on another.I'm legally on a prgram & trying to come down little by little. I could only wish that I can detox W/o having to go thru the intense withdrawls. If there was a medication that can help me get off the methodone with minimal withdrawls I would like to know about it. It is so very painful to kick,& more so when one has other medical complications. I know now that suboxone is not the answer. I'm a firm believer in God so therefore I will continue to pray that he guide me. If by chance anyone knows any other solution, it would be of great appreciation to share it. goodluck to those that are already caught in the grips of this so called miracle drug. i have a saying tat keeps me in check "It's mind over matter, if you dont put your mind to it than it wont matter" my hopes & blessings to those that feel my pain.

I was on suboxone for 2 1/2 years. I have been off for close to a month. After about 15 days I started to fell a little better. However, very shortly after that tiny period I have begun to feel like I am at week 1 again. In addition recent blood test show very, very low testosterone. It gets better. An MRI of my pituitary shows irreversible damage. It is difficult to say exactly why this happened. It may have been due to prolonged opiate use, suboxone, or I may have been like that since birth. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND SUB'S !!! It puts off the inevitable. I expect a long recovery. It sucks. At least I am in the right direction. Meetings, sponcer, home group, and talk to other addicts/alcoholics. If ya don't have a higher power, find one. God and the pain involved is my only motivator. When I get well I will work harder on the family I hurt. Today I am still sick. Suboxone is a cash cow. Suboxone is also RAT POISION.....PERIOD. AN OPIATE ! KEEP AWAY TRUST ME I AM LIVING IT TODAY. 10-2-10.
